Marina di Villasimius wins the 2015 Cobat and the Sea Award.

We are happy to inform you that our Marina di Villasimius has been awarded the important recognition of "Ecologically Virtuous Port as part of the annual event, promoted by Legambiente e Italian Touring Clubfor the awarding of the '5 Sails' to the most environmentally aware Italian municipalities. The Marina of Villasimius came first out of 136 tourist port facilities analysed according to strict parameters.1l

On Friday 5 June, at Cascina Triulza inside EXPO Milano 2015, the Managing Director of Marina di Villasimius, which has been successfully managing the facility for years, Renato Marconi, and the Director of the Marina, Amedeo Ferrigno, collected the award in the presence of the national and trade press, the award in the presence of the jury chaired by, among others, Vittorio Cogliati Dezza (National President of Legambiente), Franco Iseppi (President of the Italian Touring Club), Rossella Muroni (National Director of Legambiente), Giancarlo Morandi (President of COBAT) and Enzo Biassoni (President of the jury).

As proof of its growing prestige, the event was also attended by important institutional figures such as the Undersecretary for the Environment Barbara Degani and, above all, the unexpected and very important visit of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, who wanted to greet and personally congratulate the Mayors of the winning locations and the representatives of our Marina.

The Marina of Villasimius, one of the very few marinas in the world to be located within the Marine Protected Area of Capo Carbonara, has always been committed to respecting the environment that surrounds it. Thanks to this, it has been able to overcome the fierce competition from well-known and established marinas such as Loano and Portisco, among others, by taking careful and meticulous care in the ecological management of its structure.

3In his brief thank-you speech, Renato Marconi expressed his pride, together with that of the entire entourage that has led to this result, for an acknowledgement that comes in an area of great importance, such as the interpenetration between tourism business activities and the protection of the heritage and environmental resources of the territories that host them.

These issues have always been among the founding pillars of the activities that concern the Marina of Villasimius and on which the management policies of all the other tourist ports of the Marinedi Network, of which Villasimius is one of the leading structures, are also based.

4Our commitment is to maintain this level of excellence and to export this successful model to all the other marinas in the Marinedi network.
